The Afro-Duo ManKind Makes “Good Music”

Mankind the self-described Afro-duo comprised of The Mane (Eugene Lowell Okumu) and The Cloak (Brian Ochieng) got a grant of sh1 million from the British Council East Africa Arts as part of a new program and have been flying high ever since. With the money they got from the grant, they directed their own move and also made an entire soundtrack to go with it!

They are clearly all about pushing boundaries and themselves to the limit! They want to do things that have never been done in the industry before and they are achieving their goals. Initially, they were signed to Pine Creek Records here in Kenya but have since moved to Sony Entertainment which is based in South Africa. We feel that this is an endorsement of their hard work because of the international recognition that they are getting.

Find out more about their special brand of music when they sat down with Cate Rira on #LIT360.
