When we think about the people in music that Generation Z look up to – we think of Lil Pump, Diamond Platnumz and locally the likes of Naiboi and Khaligraph Jones. There is nothing wrong with looking up to these musicians, after all, they are extremely talented. Asa, who is an icon for many millennials across the globe draws her inspiration from what we like to call the ‘golden generation.’
This is the case because of the way their music influenced and moved their listeners. People would take up arms against their rulers and get emotional to the point of tears as a result of listening to their music or watching them perform.
